The Second Annual NYU Law Recent Graduate Challenge is an opportunity for the Law School’s recent graduates, from 2009 to 2018, to make a tangible difference in the lives of current and future NYU Law students.
A generous alumnus and current Weinfeld Program member, Marc Rindner '85, will increase his current commitment by $50,000 to be applied towards student scholarships. If 450 recent graduates make a gift (including payments on existing pledges) of any amount between now and July 31, they will unlock this vital funding for students next academic year. Plus, a Class of 2013 graduate has been so inspired by the Challenge, they are offering an additonal $25,000 for need-based scholarships if the goal is reached, bringing the total to $75,000.
The Challenge will further the impact of our recent alumni contributions and demonstrate the collective power of your support.
The Challenge is a chance to make your support go even further. Not only will your contribution help to increase funding for the Law School programs most important to you- whether it be a student organization or journal, public interest support, clinic, program, scholarships, or really anything else- your involvement will also be a part of a larger effort with your fellow Recent Graduates to create and foster opportunities for deserving NYU Law students. It’s like your gift counts twice.
Since the launch of NYU Law’s Lead the Way campaign, with an emphasis on scholarship aid and student success, the portion of 1L’s receiving financial aid through scholarship support has already risen 41%. The Challenge will harness the collective efforts of our Recent Graduates to provide more opportunity for current and prospective students to access that education regardless of financial barriers.
Contributions to anywhere at the Law School will count towards unlocking this generous donation. This includes student organizations you were a part of, centers and clinics you worked with, or departments that you want to support. Giving on The Challenge Page will direct your support to the areas it is most needed. If you would like to designate your gift to a specific area at the Law School, please go to law.nyu.edu/giving, and choose the area you’d like to support. If you do not see an initiative, you can enter it in the “Other Designation” box.
Payments on existing pledges count, so even if you have a pledge due later in the year, please consider making your payment today to extend the impact of your philanthropy.
And remember, it’s participation that counts here. Your support at any level will count towards The Challenge!
Gifts during this time from alumni in the Class of 2009 and the Class of 2014 will also have their contribution counts towards their 5th and 10th reunion fundraising goals! In this way, your gift counts three times.
