Rogue Aerospace is New York's University's only student-led rocketry team dedicated to providing real-world aerospace experience and application. Our mission is to design, build, launch, and analyze reusable rockets as a multidisciplinary team, giving students hands-on exposure and experience in the rapidly evolving aerospace industry. As a team, we aim to start a legacy at NYU by excelling at The Battle of the Rockets, a collegiate competition with multiple levels of difficulty in engineering design challenges. As Rogue Aerospace further develops, we aim to improve our rocket and rise to the challenge at The Battle of the Rockets competition in Culpeper, Virginia! This competition requires us to design both a rover and a rocket. The rocket must carry the rover payload to 1000 ft, and upon descent must deploy the rover and have it land safely. When the rover lands, it must perform a series of tasks, which include traversing 5 feet while collecting a variety of soil samples. This competition challenges the team to be proficient at both rocketry and robotics.
Our $7,500 goal would help Rogue Aerospace pay for the necessary materials and help cover entry and transportation fees, testing fees, and would immensely help us with the research and resources needed to develop a rocket and scientific payload that would meet the requirements of this national competition.
Our Story:
Rogue Aerospace was founded by 4 people with big dreams and even bigger rockets. We saw that NYU did not have a large scale rocketry team, and we sought to change that. Our first steps were to establish ourselves as professional rocketeers, with 5 members seeking official High Powered Rocketry Certifications under the National Association of Rocketry. By the end of the summer of 2018, all 5 members successfully obtained HPR 1 Certification. In October, another member attained his Level 2 HPR Certification. Currently, as of Fall 2019, over 8 members hold their Level 1 certification, with many more interested and undergoing the procedure! Our activity and involvement at NYU has skyrocketed, with our induction into the VIP (Vertically Integrated Projects) Program at NYU, which has provided us with resources that we could not have dreamed of just mere months ago. As a result of being under NYU's project umbrella, we have been given opportunities to showcase our achievements to influential members of the community, such as Chandrika Tandon, the namesake for our school, as well as our new Dean Jelena Kovačević!

Our passion for rocketry cannot be said in words but rather through actions, and Rogue Aerospace can only go higher and faster from this point on. Partner with us and your donations will allow students to continue pursuing their sky-high dreams and make ourselves a contender in the future of aerospace, both for New York University and society!
