We have raised 75% of our Rising Violets Crowdfunding Goal! We have been able to reach this point because of each and every one of you and your generosity! We appreciate your belief in our team and your willingness to support us!

Since our last crowdfunding update, we have made some big strides in the manufacturing of this year’s vehicle. In just ONE weekend, our manufacturing team was able to weld our entire frame. Major shoutout to the manufacturing team for all of their hard work and dedication to this project. 

In addition, we have placed orders for all of the raw materials that we need to start fabricating our suspension and drivetrain components. Right now we are on track with our design schedule, and are looking forward to finishing this year’s car soon!

Again, we would not be able to be successful if it were not for your generosity and donations to our team. We cannot wait to be driving soon!

Hello everyone!

Thanks to YOU we have officially reached $5,000 - half way to our goal! We hope each and every one of you understands how grateful we are for your contribution to our team. We would not be where we are today without your generosity!

Since our last update, we have made major strides in the design and manufacturing of this year’s vehicle. Our frameset has been sent to our manufacturing partner, VR3 Engineering, over two months earlier than in previous years, and our team members continue refining vehicle design every day! With their help and yours, we should be able to begin our manufacturing process before the new year!

A couple weeks ago, we had the opportunity to test last year’s car and utilize our new electronics system to gather testing data! We were able to gather data using our data acquisition system, or DAQ, created in house by team members. This data will allow us to further improve on last year’s design, leading to even more success at competition. Big shoutout to Rowan University for generously allowing us to use their test track! 

We are getting closer and closer every day to our crowdfunding goal, and that success is primarily thanks to every single one of you. We want to thank you all again for believing in our team, and we cannot wait to show everyone what we are working on!

Hello everyone!

Thank you so much again for donating to our project! We want to thank each and every one of you for believing in us enough to contribute. We really appreciate all the support we have gotten so far, and making it to 25% of our goal in such a short time is extremely encouraging. 

We have been continuing to make major progress in our latest competition car’s design. In only a few weeks we will be finalizing our frame design - a significant milestone in our process! Development of the other vehicle subsystems is steadily advancing, and we are so excited to keep going! We would not be able to design and engineer our car if it weren’t for you and your generosity, and for that we are extremely grateful. 

In the past few weeks, we had the opportunity to present our car at multiple New York University events. We were showcased at the NYU Open House, where we spoke with hundreds of perspective new students and their families. Later that week we presented our project at the Dean’s Meeting where we spoke with multiple deans of engineering schools from across the northeast. Finally, last Friday we presented at the NYU Made In Brooklyn Showcase and were able to speak with alumni of Tandon and gather insight from professionals.

In addition, we are planning a Test Day on Saturday, November 9, where we will be able to gather data from last year’s car in order to improve our current design. We are so excited to get moving again!
