Thank you so much for your support of VOTE 2020
Dear donors to VOTE 2020,
We are very pleased to tell you that VOTE 2020 has launched! The link takes you to photos and bios of the participants. We could not have done this without your support and so we wanted to thank you once again and tell you a bit more.
The Cohort includes 16 students overall. They include students from NYU Wagner, Law and undergraduate programs. They are working (virtually) for a wide range of organizations, including Mi Familia Vota, One Fair Wage, and the ACLU, and across a variety of states, including Texas, Michigan and Colorado. Over the summer, the cohort is coming together with SEAD members at several seminars and check-ins. (SEAD is the Wagner faculty and staff organization sponsoring VOTE 2020.)
The COVID-19 crisis and the spotlight on police brutality remind us that the 2020 elections could not be more important. We deeply appreciate your support.
All the best,
Erica Foldy, on behalf of Wagner Action for Social Justice, Equity and Democracy (SEAD) and its members: David Elcott, John Gershman, Steve Gutow, Amparo Hofmann, Sonia Ospina, and Scott Taitel
We are ten days into the VOTE 2020 campaign and we want to thank the 42 donors that have brought us almost 30% of the way to our funding goal!
Now, we need your continued support to meet our total goal of $30,000 in the remaining 35 days of our campaign! This funding makes it possible for Vote 2020 fellows to work for organizations that educate and mobilize voters in key swing states.
For a glimpse into the impact you’re making, we asked one of our Vote 2020 applicants to share his story and the role your contribution plays!
“I came to grad school to gain the skills necessary to help implement progressive solutions and break through inaction, misinformation, and failed policies. The Vote 2020 fellowship would grant me the opportunity to go back to Michigan and put my skills to use, gain experience working in local organizing, work to increase voter participation and improve the accurate flow of information.
I’m excited for the opportunity to put foot to pavement and work with community members to make our democracy work for everyone—thank you for helping to make this happen through donating to the VOTE 2020 Fellowship Program.”
Eric, 2nd Year MPA Candidate
