Help our students attend the 50th Annual NSBE Convention, fostering diversity and innovation.

In the US roughly 4% of engineers are Black. However, imagine creating a world where resources and opportunities are accessible to everyone despite their background and demographics. Through your donation, you will not only invest in minority students in STEM but will help make their dreams a reality by empowering them to attend the 50th Annual NSBE Convention. 

The National Society of Black Engineers is one of the largest organisations with the purpose of “increasing the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community”. At NYU we host a myriad of events focused on community building, commitment to service, professional development and academic excellence, but one of the pivotal events is the Annual NSBE Convention which is in Atlanta this year from 20-24 March. This convention is more than just a gathering; it's a bridge to success. Students participate in world class workshops and scholarship opportunities, network with some of the brightest minds in industry, and are able to partake in the career fair which consistently results in students obtaining interviews, internships and full time offers. 

Unfortunately, with the limited funding we receive and the growing student interest and membership, we may not be able to cover the financial costs of students who are actively seeking a full time role or internship. This places a lot of financial burden on not only our organisation but our students as well. Our rising violets page is one of the many ways we hope to fundraise for conference and hopefully reach our target of raising about $35,000 to financially support about 40 students. Your generosity will directly impact these students' lives. Together, we can help them achieve their dreams and make the 50th NSBE Convention a memorable and transformative experience.
