Service For Peace collaborates with partner communities in the Dominican Republic to address significant development issues, using a community based approach. In addition to ongoing local projects led by local teams together with partner communities, they coordinate safe, meaningful, affordable, and fun international service opportunities volunteer groups. Service For Peace utilizes a unique approach towards cross-cultural community development in which they equally prioritize the rich and genuine experience of volunteers with the sustainable and collaborative development of the long-term partner communities in which they work.
This will be NYU’s 5th year working with Service for Peace, and the 1st year in the community of La Rosa in the Dominican Republic. Our group is very excited to continue our relationship with Service for Peace, and build relationships with locals as we work alongside them to construct a water tank. As our team prepares for our trip this upcoming March, we appreciate any support to help cover the costs of the trip, including construction materials for the project.
