Shabbat for 2000

Over the next month, our team of student leaders is seeking to raise $30,000 to host Shabbat for 2000! We hope that you will support our students today by making a donation and on April 20th by joining us for the largest community event of the year.

What is Shabbat for 2000?

On April 20th, 2018, the students of the Bronfman Center will host Shabbat for 2000, a free shabbat dinner which brings together 2,000 university students, alumni, family members, faculty and staff from all different backgrounds to share in the profound communal experience of shabbat dinner.

Shabbat for 2000, now in its nineteenth year, is the largest Jewish student event in the country and one of the largest student-run events at NYU!

Why is Shabbat for 2000 important?

  • It unifies the Jewish community on campus.

  • As one of the largest student-run events in lower Manhattan, it gives leadership opportunities to over 200 students.

  • It connects people from diverse backgrounds across the University and Manhattan to break bread together through a Jewish tradition.

All of the funds raised by the Shabbat for 2000 student development committee will go to offset the costs of hosting the event.

Please share in the tradition and help us reach our goal to raise $30,000 by April 20th!
