We hope you've had a great summer so far! Our NYUSPS Aspire Summer Session for returning Seniors is in full swing, and we had a very exciting announcement for our young scholars: thanks to your generous contributions, they would each be receiving a laptop for the duration of the program!

The students couldn’t wait to begin working with their new laptops. This equipment has already been put to use in their Quantitative Analytics and College Prep courses, and will assist them in their College Essay Writing and Leadership classes later in the week. The responses from students, mentors and faculty have been nothing short of tremendous! Students recounted nights spent typing up essays on cell phones or spending hours in the library on shared computers, emphasizing how important access to their own personal laptop would be as they worked to complete Aspire assignments.

Junior and Senior Aspire students will continue using the laptops throughout their time in the program. We cannot wait to explore the amazing academic and professional opportunities this technology will provide. All of us at NYUSPS Aspire are so grateful to the donors and supporters that made this gift possible. Thank you!

Great news: our fundraiser has been extended for an additional two weeks! At our last Aspire event, we asked all of our students to describe their program experience in one word, and we compiled this list into the word cloud you see below. With only a few days remaining in our Rising Violets campaign, we wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for your generous contributions. The support NYUSPS Aspire has received has blown us away, and we could not be more grateful to every single one of you!

We are proud to report that our Aspire Class of 2020 - who will become the graduating class of 2024 at their future colleges - has been selected! 100% of our 40 incoming students are first generation college hopefuls who cannot wait to begin their college journey with the Aspire team. Many of our new students come from homes without computers, making it difficult for them to access the Aspire program's online components or pre-college resources. Your contribution will make it possible for all of our students to have their own personal computer, which will provide endless opportunities for engagement, communication with Aspire staff and mentors, and meaningful academic experiences.

As we prepare for summer, we cannot help reflecting on the amazing potential found in all our young scholars. We cannot wait to greet them this summer and share with them the amazing gift you have made possible.
