Our Crowdfunding Groups
Over winter break, a group of NYU students and faculty partnered with Outreach 360 to concentrate on youth development and education in the beautiful country, the Dominican Republic.
We had a full itinerary packed with teaching and learning. Every morning, we visited a local public school to teach English to more than 150 students. The students' ages ranged from age five to twelve. In the afternoon, the amazing organization Outreach360 holds an after-school program for any students that are dedicated to spending extra time to learn English. As volunteers, we worked with community leaders to create lesson plans. The lesson plans were engaging and exciting with the purpose of encouraging the students to want to further their education. In the evening, Outreach360 representatives taught our group about the culture and history of their beautiful country.
The seven days with the students and Outreach 360 flew by! Although we went to act as a catalyst for social change, our group left with so much knowledge and love for the Dominican Republic.
Our goal is to raise $14,500 to help cover the costs of the trip for every participant so that we can continue to participate in service projects focusing on youth development. Any donation would be greatly appreciated! We thank you in advance!
