Greetings from the NYU Hyperloop 2021-2022 Team!

More About Our Team:

NYU Hyperloop is a student-run team with a passion for transforming our current modes of transportation into systems that are more sustainable and eco-friendly. Our goal is to reduce our carbon footprint by eliminating automobile traffic and decreasing time in transit by creating a hyperloop system between Long Island and New York City.

With this goal in mind, the NYU Hyperloop team has multiple teams focusing on propulsion, structures, feedback & control, safety, material science, electronics, power systems, financial feasibility, and logistics. By the end of the 2021-2022 school year, our goal is to present a small-scale Hyperloop system representative of the full-scale system to be implemented between New York City and Long Island. This creates an incredible learning environment for approximately 100 students to attain experience and work on cutting-edge technology.

Why We Need Your Help:

We are asking for your help to raise funds to provide better materials needed by the team, testing equipment for safety and validation, create our own instructional videos for future students, & support our future volunteering endeavors. We are incredibly thankful for donations of any size and look forward to continuing our relationship with you. Thank you!

Past Progress:

Prior to the pandemic, the NYU Hyperloop team competed and placed in SpaceX's Hyperloop Competition. In the previous Hyperloop competitions, NYU Hyperloop placed second for our freight-only pod and placed in the top 50 in the most recent competition. With a combination of factors since the last competition, the team has been working hard to implement the possibility of a Hyperloop System in the New York Metropolitan Area.

The Hyperloop was first introduced in 2013 by Elon Musk’s white paper, Hyperloop Alpha. He proposed the idea of a competition to quickly innovate and advance Hyperloop research. In the past, NYU Hyperloop has been invited back to work directly with industry professionals to continue in the competition and refine our prototype. Since then, the team has gained an incredible amount of experience and courage to begin our new, more holistic approach to creating a system that will impact millions within the New York Metropolitan Area.
