The Dr. Ikuko Acosta Scholarship funds opportunities for international graduate students who are interested in studying art therapy at New York University.
Dr. Ikuko Acosta has been responsible for the global expansion of art therapy. Her teachings in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Ghana, India, Italy, Japan, Taiwan, and Tanzania have cultivated training programs and aided in community recovery. Her international outreach, culturally attuned and socially responsible, has ignited new opportunities for aspiring art therapists. Dr. Acosta's innovative practice has inspired international students to return to their home countries well equipped to initiate art therapy services for underserved areas. In the generous spirit of Dr. Ikuko Acosta, the scholarship named in her honor forges new pathways for future art therapists from around the globe who are often ineligible for educational funding.
