The STAGE PASS FUND will provide FREE tickets to NYU Skirball events for NYU students, underrepresented youth served by local cultural organizations throughout New York City, and neighborhood senior centers. Ensuring student success, enhancing access, serving diverse audiences, and increasing the affordability of events are all priorities being met through this exciting program. Hetrick-Martin Institute at "Twelfth Night" Photo by Adam Stevens Do you remember the first time you experienced the theatre? The lights, the crowds, the excitement? What is more exciting than live performance? Shared experiences, transformational moments, transcendental artists...each performance provides another opportunity for audiences to walk away with something profound, with something that they hadn't thought of before. Through NYU's Rising Violets crowdfunding platform, NYU students and alumni have raised funds for #RepresentationMatters, a campaign to bring underrepresented LGBTQ+ and BIPOC youth to NYU Skirball productions. Last season, we raised funds to broaden access for NYU students to experience the arts and remove cost as a barrier. Now, the two programs come together to provide access for all with the STAGE PASS FUND. Recipients of the fund will include NYU students, young people from the Hetrick-Martin Institute, The Door, and other cultural organizations that serve BIPOC & LGBTQ+ youth, as well as senior citizens from neighborhood centers such as Greenwich House, Educational Alliance Sirovich Senior Center, Hudson Guild Senior Center, Penn South Senior Center, and SAGE.
We are raising funds to help improve access to NYU Skirball performances throughout the year, including performances by:
