We hope this email finds you well. We’re thrilled to announce that thanks to your contributions, we have reached our initial donation goal of $3000. We’re proud to have reached this milestone ahead of schedule, and with a broad base of support. We plan to use the money that we’ve raised so far to fund the fabrication and testing of our competition rocket.

Because of the overwhelming support we’ve received this year, we will be extending our fundraising goals to more than we had initially planned.

We will be focusing our continuing Rising Violets efforts on the following objectives:

• Sending more students to test launches: At the moment, due to the steep cost of renting large travel vehicles for transporting the rocket(s), equipment, and team members ($250+ van/day), we can only send 4 students to each test launch. Test launches offer unique insight into the specifics of launch day operations and we would love to open up this opportunity to more members. 
• Full team attendance at final NASA competition: Launch in Huntsville, Alabama will cost us approximately $800 per student, and with our current budget, we are only able to send 8 students out of 30. Competition is an invaluable experience for our students, enabling them to connect directly with industry experts and peers from universities across the country.

This semester we have been working hard on engineering our competition rocket and completed our Preliminary Design Report, presenting to a panel of NASA judges. We are now building our first rocket in preparation for our test launch next week on November 25th.
